Tumblr: first impressions
So, I joined Tumblr just to suss it out, but I think I really like it.
For starters, it’s insanely easy to customise my design. I turned my old Wordpress design into a Tumblr template in just a few hours.
With Tumblr, it’s also super-easy to share cool things.. I have a button in my bookmarks bar, and when I’m on an interesting web page, or looking at a cool video on YouTube, I click the bookmark and “BAM!”, I can post to my Tumblr super easy.
They also have Markdown as a formatting syntax for entries. That alone makes it worth it!
And finally, I don’t have to think. I don’t have to think about specific markup for captions to photos or videos, no stupid plugins to make stuff complicated… It just works.
I’m really impressed!
